]]> At this time of year, the olive trees hang heavy with fruit, their silvery leaves shimmering in the soft Mediterranean light. Walking through the groves near my home on the Costa Brava, I’m always struck by the harmony of subtle greens, warm greys, and the burnt amber tones of the soil.

This latest work — acrylic on canvas, 80 x 80 cm — is an abstract response to that quiet beauty. It’s about the balance between nature’s stillness and its abundance, the calm rhythm that fills the air during the olive harvest season.

Work in Progress

The piece began in the studio with layers of translucent olive tones — mixed greens, soft umbers, and the occasional blue to cool the palette. The process involved experimenting with diluted acrylics, letting them settle and blend like the shifting shades of the groves themselves.
